Rumors about Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra have been fueled by leaks that indicate a significant upgrade, which will include changes in all the mentioned areas and not just one of them. The S26 Ultra, unlike the previous Ultra models that mainly upgraded cameras and the S Pen, is said to be coming with improvements in design, photography, battery life, and security.

PhoneArena, among others, has corroborated the report of a design change in the Ultra series. The S26 Ultra is likely to have more gentle and rounded edges, thus loosing the sharp and boxy appearance of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The new body is to ensure a good grip while the phone has the premium look of the brand.

The company is said to be making significant improvements to the camera. A major upgrade is the main sensor that is to be fitted with a wider aperture meaning better performance in low-light situations and brighter night images. The front camera will also be able to get a larger area of the scene thus it will be easier to do group selfies without losing the quality of the picture. Samsung will probably be bringing back the rear camera bump for the large lenses, which will be a compromise between the design and the usability.

There is also an opportunity for battery and charging to get better. Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to have a battery capacity of 5,200 mAh, which is an improvement of 200 mAh from a 5,000 mAh battery, and this change is good after several years of no capacity increase. The charging rates are said to be going up as well, with wired charging getting to 60W and wireless charging getting to 25W, thus exceeding the previous 45W and 15W limits respectively.

Samsung intends to give the S26 Ultra new features that will be exclusive, including AI-driven tools that will not be used by other S26 variants. Among them is an AI-based privacy display which is meant to hide the screen content from onlookers while letting the user see it. The feature can be set to turn on during the use of sensitive apps, thus providing extra security and human comfort at the same time.

These new features and functionalities put the Galaxy S26 Ultra in a different league as a flagship phone, in terms of usability, imaging, and privacy. Together with the design, battery, and camera enhancements, the new Ultra phone could set new limits for Samsung's premium smartphones.
